Mark Hamstra, New Construction

Mark Hamstra, with four decades in roofing, excels as a production manager. He values his company's longevity and balances work with leisure activities like camping.

“You need to enjoy what you do, I love my job in roofing. There will be snags, but it's about figuring out how to fix and overcome them. At the end of the day, the goal is to ensure the customer is happy.” — Mark Hamstra

Mark joined the company before graduating high school and evolved from a shingler to his current role. As production manager, he handles operations, projects, and builder liaisons, and enjoys the variety of work.

“I remember my first day vividly. It was my graduation day. I worked in the morning, I made $60, and graduated that night. Those experiences, hard as they were, made me good at what I do.”

Mark positions himself as a facilitator, aiding team members to maintain high customer service standards. He recognizes the need to cultivate younger talents for the company's future.

“When I'm not roofing, I enjoy camping with my family and vacationing with friends. These moments give me the breather I need to keep doing what I do.”

His love for work and outdoor activities shows the rewards of long-term commitment to an industry. Mark's story inspires industry newcomers.
